AWFS Fair 2021 | Dynabrade Debuts Automation
After officially launching our automation channel at AWFS, which was a great success, we sit down and ask a few of our Dynabraders what they thought of the AWFS Fair 2021 and what more is to come.
What trends in the industry were common among many manufacturers?
Automation in the form of both robotics and machinery to perform the job quicker and more consistently.
Anything stand out to you as new and interesting this year?
Automation and robotics have become a big part of the wood industry from the beginning process to the final product.
Was automation a hot topic for many attendees?
Yes, there was a lot of interest on the topic. Constant theme was that it has been difficult to
find workers, so automation is a must. Some people also stated that they would like to get
operators away from the mundane and repetitive jobs so their focus could be on more critical
operations, where more value could be added.
Do you feel our debut of cobot applications and EOAT was captured at AWFS?
I think we had a very dynamic display using our robot that drew a lot of interest. Our Proof-of-Concept
approach was well received and allowed us to have deeper conversations. It helped inspire end users to
want to take the next step and see if this could be a fit for their operations.
What was the reaction from attendees that watched the demo live?
Everyone seemed to like our display and stopped to watch and even took videos whether they spoke to us.
People appreciated that the application was relatable and helped them visualize what could be done in
their own operations.
One of our Dynabrade tools was also on display at Schmalz's booth with a UR robot. With more people seeing the need for automation, the demand is being increasingly met and continues to grow within the industry.
