Dynabrade Sanders: Supreme vs. Spirit vs. Extreme

Dynabrade has been making pneumatic air sanders for over 30 years. The very first model introduced was our Dynorbital® Supreme. Since its introduction, the Supreme has gone through ergonomic design changes that have only improved it. With those changes, also came other sanders that have made a name for themselves in the woodworking and metalworking industries.

Dynabrade started independently designing and manufacturing random orbital sanders in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The lightweight Dynorbital® Supreme was born with an aluminum housing. In the 1990s, it went through its first change and was given a composite housing body. In 2008, Dynabrade released the D3 line, where the Supreme went through enhancements that we still manufacture and ship today.

The Dynorbital® Spirit debuted as part of our new D3 lineup and is still the lightest of our 5" and 6" diameter sanders. This sander is perfect for smaller operators (tool grip is the same size as the supreme) and ideal for vertical and contoured surfaces. An ergonomic tool grip has been added for comfort and is best for light to medium duty.

Our latest line of sanders, the Dynorbital® Extreme series, has a new motor design that has the highest power-to-weight ratio in the industry. It also has the most consistent speed, (under load) in industry, running at 92% of rated tool free-speed.

What makes each sander line different? Let's break it down…
