How to Change a Dynabrade Sanding Pad

Notice a tear or crack in your sanding pad?
Is the hook and loop surface not sticking as well as it once did?
If you are noticing your sander isn't performing well, it may be time for a new sanding pad.

If you are using a random orbital sander without a vacuum, the dust could be causing buildup underneath your sanding disc. We recommend using a vacuum tool, but if this is not an option, try to keep your workspace as clean as possible. Have you noticed worn areas on your pad? Ensure you run the pad flat on the work surface and be mindful of how much pressure you are applying during operation of the tool. The orbital sander should be doing the work, not your arms. If you are applying too much pressure, the pad and disc will move much slower which can cause defects in your work.

Dynabrade's orbital sanders come enclosed with the wrench needed to remove the pad for easy replacement. If you've misplaced yours or are unsure which one you need, reach out to

We are using the highest quality and precision engineering to produce exclusive single hub sanding pads, all right here in the USA. The pads are perfectly weight-mated to Dynabrade tools for smooth operation, achieving consistent swirl-free finishes. The specific pad chemistry used produces superior durability, bond integrity, and pad face adhesion.

There are four rigorous tests the pads must pass before they meet our quality stamp of approval. The run-out test, in-line scale, life test, and spin test. The face run-out of a competitor's pad measures as high as .015 - . 040. Our Dynabrade pads face run-out test measures only .002 - .005. Poorly manufactured competitive sanding pads need frequent replacement and can be a constant safety hazard. Avoid the hassle with Dynabrade's vinyl-face, hook-face, non-vacuum or vacuum pads.
